Founded on March 1977 in Denver, Colorado, JD Edwards based its name on full-proof integrated ERP software on IBM minicomputers.
In 1996, JD Edwards launched a client-server product called OneWorld. PeopleSoft acquired JD Edwards in 1993 and renamed the software OneWorld to EnterpriseOne.
Oracle then acquired Peoplesoft on December 2004, maintained two lines of JD Edwards ERP software product; Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards WORLD (IBM iSeries).
